I found the Unsweetened flavors of Hope and Sesame sesamemilk too bitter to drink. Is this typical of your product?Updated a year ago

We recommend using our Unsweetened flavors in recipes, smoothies, baking, etc. They are designed as a culinary product, and are best enjoyed along with sweeteners or other flavors.

The true taste of sesame is quite bitter due to the sesame seed hulls. If you’re a supertaster (about 1/5 of the population), you will detect the bitterness even more. Sesame seeds are naturally rich in protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, and other great minerals. They’re also naturally resistant to pests due to a bitter acid in the hull of the sesame seeds that protects the crop.

What you’re tasting in Unsweetened sesamemilk is the true, real taste of sesame, without the rich nutrients removed. Therefore, sesamemilk is able to deliver the same nutrition as dairy milk – a complete protein with all 9 essential amino acids! Each 8 oz (1 cup) serving of sesamemilk contains the equivalent of 5,000 sesame seeds, with 8g of complete plant protein, and in the case of our Unsweetened sesamemilk, no added sugar (it’s keto-friendly too!).
